When in doubt optimise your life for your interests. Field should become increasingly interesting. If it doesn't it's not for you. Don't worry if you have strange taste. Strong taste are weird taste. And this will make you productive by itself... Play... You don't owe field anything, if you find something more interesting go for it. Make what you are most excited about.
