Locking in?

deep work entrepreneurship productivity

Lock in. It's a gen Z way to say "focus" and pick the path of difficulty.

It's boring. Very boring, and lame. It's hard and it sucks. It's frustrating and filled with doubt. It's lonely. More than half of days are below average.

But then it goes from forced focus to flow. The climb becomes the greatest source of happiness. Doing something worth it.

And then it's boring again. Day 74... Few months in?

The brain fights you all the time, because it doesn't care about what you want. It wants easy.

When someone else tells you to come at 6am, you will. When you tell it to yourself you will sleep in.

The greatest help is a good why. "He who has a why to live for can bear almost any how". And you need a really good why.

The inspiration you get from a video or an article, might keep you going for a few hours, but it fades. Watching someone else doing it, or talking about doing it gives a fake confirmation. It's just a temporary feeling.

Long term success requires suffering.

The goal must transform into a need. The closer to a need it is, the better. And to do so is to build up your WHY. Feeding it endlessly. Like an obsession.

Locking in is an ultramarathon that never ends.

Still want it?
